this is something special. It’s been over four years that Frank Turner helped to kickstart a career in music that otherwise would not have been possible.
I remember Frank and Ben Nichols from Lucero watching my set and after I had finished and walked down these few steps from the stage turning to each other, fingerprinting at me saying: “Ahhh, we just ruined his life”. They had. In a way. In another way, they had opened a door for me that I didn’t even think existed.
It all started on May 4, 2013 when friends talked me into playing guitar for a bunch of Frank Turner die-hards that had started to queue very early for a show at Knust that night. During a cover of ‘Mr Jones’ by the Counting Crows, Frank walked out and played some harmonica.
Now, on December 19th, 2017, 1689 days and exactly 499 shows later, I will return to where it all started to play my biggest headline show yet.
My 500th show (Yes, indeed…) and we are going to make it very special. More details will be announced as we get closer towards the date.
JOHN ALLEN & Guests
PreSales will start very soon, but I would already like to thank everyone at Knust for their faith in me, because here’s the thing. Knust is (at least by my standards) a BIG VENUE, which means, I really do need all of you, otherwise it’s going to feel pretty lonely up on stage.
Can I count on you? I sure think so!
